Opportunities we have available through 1 Million Minutes campaign:
Home Visiting Volunteer – 180 minutes a week for 1 year
This role enables volunteers to visit families in their own home to provide practical and/or emotional support. If a family is isolated, they may need support to go to a local group. An overwhelmed parent may need help to organise the household or it could be a mum or dad who just needs someone to talk to. A volunteer can make a big difference in just a couple of hours a week.
Volunteering in the family home can also include English Tutoring or Perinatal Support (for families from pregnancy until child is 2 years old).
The support and friendship you can provide is invaluable, and can help take away some of the stresses of day to day life, enabling parents to cope better with daily tasks and improve their confidence, giving their children the best possible start in life.
Community Champion – 60 minutes a month for 6 months
Community Volunteers support our organisation on an ad-hoc basis with a range of activities that support the breadth of our work. This can be fundraising, promotional campaigns or goods drives. Typical activities might include bucket collections at events/ supermarkets; leafleting about our services; helping recruit volunteers at events or even supporting online campaigns.
Training dates: No training required for this role however and induction will be given at the time of relevant volunteering opportunities.
