After successfully co-facilitating Circle of Security sessions with the NSPCC in May, we are delighted to have two of our Family Support Co-Ordinators now fully trained in delivering Circle of Security Sessions.
Circle of Security is a strengths based parenting programme based on the attachment theory. Sessions bring parents/carers together to better understand their baby/child’s needs, providing important peer support for parents who attend.
One of the parents who took part in our last sessions said: “Honestly, I am so glad that I did it, I got so much more out of it than I thought I would. It taught me to take time out to help organise my feelings, before I help my child organise hers. Until I saw the Circle Map, I didn’t understand my daughters needs. It helped me, understanding that she might need help to organise her feelings”.
Our Family Support Co-ordinators are currently delivering Circle of Security sessions to some of the families supported by Home-Start Glasgow South.
