Volunteers Week celebrated its 40th year from 1st – 7th June.

Volunteers Week celebrates the amazing contributions volunteers make to communities across the UK. It’s a chance to recognise, celebrate and thank the UK’s incredible volunteers for all that they contribute to our local communities, the volunteer sector and society as a whole.

Volunteers are the heart of Home-Start, and we wouldn’t be where we are today without them. We are so thankful for the difference they make to families we support across South Glasgow.

To mark volunteers week, we shared daily messages of thanks with our volunteers along with opportunity to take part in different activities such as a coffee morning at The Warm Place or Wellbeing Walk. We also promoted the impact that volunteering has on both our volunteers and families on our social media channels.

Our next volunteer training course will be due to commence in late Aug – beginning of Sept and we still have spaces available. If you have a couple of hours a week you are able to spare and would like to join us in making a difference to local families, call us on 0141 570 8735 or email
